There is a beautiful star in the sky which is not a star. Stars blink, this one doesn’t. It is a planet. It is Jupiter. The skymap app is such a wonder. Back in the day, we would use these circular discs to navigate through the night skies. But now things have changed drastically and yet I don’t see as many heads turned up to the celestial mysteries that surround us.
Though the position of these planets seem to exude an impact on us. Ask the astrologers and the new age astrology apps. These apps secure fundings in crores of dollars and here even dreaming about securing funding seems unnerving to me. Funding for what you may ask? I have a list. Like I have a list of places I want to visit.
Sometimes these things seem so distant. But it is the present that one must focus on. What is the present? The immediate now and tomorrow. Tomorrow always seems full of possibilities but the words of Kabir ring shrill in my ear. And then I need to focus on today. Even if today just means going to a cold “luru terrace and looking up to the planets.
Italian food and star gazing seem like a promising idea. Imagine eating pasta as you watch a meteor shower light up the sky. Oh what a feeling. I have done one of those things. Stayed up night to watch the meteor shower, what a memorable experience that was back in December of 2014. A decade ago. I wonder if there are as many meteors crashing into the skies of Jawahar now.
Some day I will return to see the skies. From igatpuri or wada or Jawahar or Spiti, it doesn’t matter. Maybe I will also make pasta and invite some of you with me. Maybe we can hire a caravan together, like Shahrukh from Swades. Maybe that’s the idea I need to secure funding for.
