The cold weather and a pretty long day led meant that my feet automatically veered towards the Tibetan place located right on the rooftop of a small building. Just like how Tibet occupies the roof of the world, Mother’s kitchen stays nestled on the top of a busy corner of Kormangala. I first visited this place back in 2018. It was delightful and it hasn’t changed much since then. Ii
The thenthuk seemed inviting. Just like thukpa did but this was without the maida noodles. The carbs were presented in form of diamomds made of wheat flour, which are cooked with the broth. A Tibetan daal dhokli but just 3x better. The perfectly spiced broth with vegetables, chicken and thenthuk made for a great meal. The hot broth warmed up my insides and Monday blues somewhat dissipated as I feasted on the goodness in a bowl. Like a warm hug that helps to deal with the momentary madness. The weather remained inviting and it was hard to go indoors to my hotel room.
But alas it is time to sleep so I had to return. Otherwise I would’ve been glad to roam around these streets on this cold evening, fuelled by the nice spicy thenthuk, longing for a real hug.
