Heritage Walks in Mumbai

This year I have decided to lead more heritage and experiential walks in Mumbai. These heritage walks are suitable for small groups of students, tourists and of course, Mumbaikars. I am also keen to collaborate with folks (documentary makers, artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians) who are working on projects featuring Mumbai and Bombay.

A Walking Lecture on the Emergence of a MetropolisWith the students of the School of Art Institute, Chicago at the Swami Vivekananda Statue at Gateway of India

On these walks I focus on bringing the past alive through stories, anecdotes and historical references. However, I believe that our city is a living, breathing entity and thus it is my constant endeavour to weave the past with the present.

All my walks are thoroughly researched by referencing various official documents, history books and accounts of travellers. I continue to build upon my body of research. You can read some of my writings here.

  1. Fort & Colaba
  2. Dadar – Lalbagh – Parel
