Silent lanes, criss cross each other
5th Road, 10th Road, Carter Road
Quiet homes stand tall over me
Lit with warm yellow lights
Like a street urchin
I look up longingly into these homes
Where everything seems peaceful
But out of reach for my shallow pockets
Where have I come
Sometimes it doesn’t feel so far
Six years around the same spot
Going around like a merry-go-round
I recognise the roads
From many years ago
When I used to be a boy
Trying to earn a living
Not much has changed
The dreams and hopes
Still remain unfulfilled
But I continue to dream
