Life has been crazy in the last decade. But I guess life is all about moving on and rebuilding over the ashes of your broken dreams.
My friend Nahida is a career coach and she runs DiscoverU.in. It is a fantastic practice aimed at helping people discover their true calling. A career is not something that happens on its own. It is not a linear path. Sometimes you go zigzag and then you start over in a different field altogether.
It is shaped by you and the choices that you make over the course of it. And sometimes having a guide with you along the way helps immensely. That’s where Nahida comes in. She brings a wealth of experience in the field and she is driven by the mission of helping others lead their best lives and make the right choices on this journey.
In her series on Career Journeys – she interviews folks who have transitioned from one career to the other. That’s where yours truly comes in. I spoke to her about attempting and failing the UPSC exam, 6 times and building a reliable backup on the go. We even demystified HR and what it really takes to work in this field.
The entire experience was great. Though I learnt a few things or two about my on-screen presence (need to sit straight, maintain a good posture), sit in a well ventilated room, give some thought to how I appear (fix my hair) and of course invest in some good lighting or choose a spot with natural light.
Hope you enjoy the conversation!
